SCOTT E. PATTERSON, ESQ.

Mr. Patterson has extensive practice representing public entities, primarily with regard to environmental and insurance coverage matters.  He has assisted public entities in dealing with numerous types of environmental issues in numerous contexts, including landfills, sewer line leaks, sediment contamination, and groundwater plumes, among other types of sites.  This representation includes both defending the public entity against liability for such matters as well as helping public entities deal with these issues in a way that allows the sites to be put to productive use.

Mr. Patterson has also successfully pursued and negotiated insurance coverage for such environmental claims on behalf of a number of different types of public entities, including cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, water districts and port districts throughout California.  In addition, Mr. Patterson also has significant appellate and writ experience, including both drafting and arguing, in both the state and federal courts.

Mr. Patterson is a 1994 graduate of the University of San Diego, summa cum laude.  While at USD he received a number of American Jurisprudence awards and served on the USD Law Review.  He is admitted to practice in California, as well as the Southern and Eastern District Courts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
