Brown & Winters was recently recognized as the first law office to join the San Diego Green Business Program.  Participation in the program involves reducing consumption of limited resources such as paper, water and fossil fuels, as well as implementing a green purchasing policy.

   Brown & Winters Green Purchasing Policy includes:

1. Minimize purchases as much as possible with reusable supplies
2. Paper products: purchase chlorine-free and at least 30% recycled content products
3. Purchase non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning supplies
4. Purchase recycled content products whenever possible
5. Purchase in bulk to reduce packaging
6. Purchase products with minimal packaging
7. Purchase products that can be recycled/composted
8. Purchase certified organic/fair trade products whenever possible
9. Purchase from local recycled products cooperative whenever possible
10. Maintain central shopping list to reduce number of shopping trips
